Raff was born in New Zealand and grew up in Australia. After a lifetime of searching for a place to belong, she
met the family of Into the Light Ministries. It was then that she met her husband, David. They started a friendship
together and fell in love. But there were many hardships they had to endure before they were able to marry. Some of this
hardship was spending six months apart in two separate countries. But after some time she was able to join David in
America and five days later they were married. They now have two small children, Tyrell and Cheyenne whom they are very
devoted to.
Raff was a daydreamer as a child. She always loved to sing and also loved to read and write. As an attention
depraved teenager, she grew a love for writing poetry. Drawing all of her emotions she found this was her way of venting
and expressing her feelings of a lack of love. She lacked attention because she had grown up an ugly child and was very
different among her friends and family.
Once she had reached her late teens, Raff started to write songs. She has a love for music and playing
instruments. So she learned to write songs and music and spent most of her time alone singing. Her songs were very sad
at that time and left a feeling of emptiness. However, when she met her new family, the Bernier's, she knew that no
matter where they went, she was to follow. God had brought the family she had been searching for to her.
Raff's songs are always written as an expression of how she feels, about Christ, about life, and about
circumstances. Her songs now, are not written in depression, but in joy and gratefulness for the life the Lord has given
her. She writes from the heart of one who has felt sorrow and suffering and with the intent of reaching those who feel
the same emotions. She writes this way, that others can find the hope they seek. The hope that can only be found in
Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
