Joanna was born in New Zealand and lived in Australia before joining Into the Light Ministries. She has always loved to sing. She is devoted to her husband and to their baby girl, Genesis. Joanna's childhood was not an easy one. After meeting her husband and his family in Australia, she began to find herself and more importantly, Christ. She had found the place she could call home and a family who "really" loved her and believed in her. She sat outside in the mid-morning singing and everyone would gather to listen to her. She had a peace about her that always drew people to come and listen. You could see how people were touched by the way she sang, some deeply convicted, others weeping tears of repentance. There was a humbleness about her. In spite of insecurity deep within, that made it much easier for Christ to speak through her. "I've heard the voice of many people and the voice of many angels... but not a voice as sweet as my God's.. His voice is wonderful". Every song she writes is written with true conviction of the heart, and every time she sings... that conviction strikes through the hearts of man that there is a God, and there is the hope that grace will be given to those who would but come, and repent. It is because of this that she has been called to lead people in worship. Truly the spirit of God is present when one can sing from the heart in praise with no care for how she sounds or what someone else thinks. This is the grace that is present in her life.
